Building Up

With companies cutting roles to cut costs, it is increasingly difficult to find opportunities for mentorship. My own experience has been full of people who took a chance on me, people who were willing to let me follow a path that may not be the most effective, but the one I needed to go on to learn.

My perspective has been shaped by the kindness shown to me by managers that built me up and saw the value I could bring tomorrow, rather than the missteps I may have made yesterday. My management style is based on building up – hire great people, and give them what they need to succeed in their own way.
